Dragon Copilot and DAX Copilot: Improvements to Clinical Note Output
Microsoft's latest release for Dragon Copilot and DAX Copilot sharpens clinical note quality — context-aware HPI for Epic customers, plus reworked Psychology and Psychiatry note structures. The update applies automatically; no action is needed.
Microsoft has released an update to Dragon Copilot and DAX Copilot aimed at improving the quality of clinical note output. Context-aware HPI
For Epic customers with Diagnosis retrieval enabled, Dragon Copilot now draws on visit diagnoses to better tailor HPI documentation. This improves the capture of relevant clinical details, medications, and dates, while keeping summaries focused for conditions unrelated to the current visit.
Psychology note updates
Based on customer feedback, note generation for the Psychology specialty has been enhanced to better reflect talk therapy workflows and documentation needs:
- Greater emphasis on therapy content throughout the note.
- An improved Physical Exam section, with enhanced Mental Status Exam documentation.
- A more comprehensive Assessment & Plan section covering problems addressed, therapy content, therapeutic interventions, treatment plans, additional clinical notes, risk factors, and time documentation.
Together these changes produce more complete, clinically relevant psychology notes while reducing documentation effort.
Psychiatry note updates
The Psychiatry specialty note structure has been updated to make documentation more streamlined and better organized, with more comprehensive output. The HPI has been simplified by removing Functional Status, Triggers and Stressors, and Family Psychiatric History as separate sections, and Family History has been added.
